After completing secondary education at the grammar school Gymnasium Philippinum in Weilburg/Land of Hesse with focus on classical humanities and languages, I achieved higher education in German Philology, Ancient, Medieval and Modern History and Political Science at universities in Bonn and Tübingen.
In 1996 I completed the preparatory period for secondary-school teacher training at the Teacher Training Seminar in Tübingen (subjects German, History and Politics) which included training schools in Reutlingen (Bildungszentrum Nord) and Mössingen (Quenstedt Gymnasium).
In 1996 I had my first official appointment by the Central Agency for German Schools Abroad in Cologne and moved to Kalaba Anadolu Lisesi in Ankara-Keçiören/Turkey as a teacher of German as a Foreign Language under a special German-Turkish teacher exchange program (Anadolu Exchange Program). I returned to Germany in 1999 to continue teaching activities in the above mentioned subjects and Ethics at Johann-Vanotti-Gymnasium in Ehingen on the Danube. In addition to this I took up part-time lectureship for German as a Foreign Language at the Teacher Training Seminar in Tübingen.
Between 2003 and 2011 I undertook my second official appointment by the Central Agency for German Schools Abroad at the German International School Jakarta/Indonesia. I was a member of the School Management holding special functions as Coordinator of School Development and Head of the German as a Foreign Language Department.
Back in Germany/State of Baden-Württemberg I continued my teaching activities at Andreae-Gymnasium in Herrenberg with additional work as a supervisor and mentor for trainee teachers.In August 2015 I was given my third official appointment by the Central Agency for German Schools Abroad to the German European School Manila/Philippines as Head of School.
