The German Middle School runs from 6th to 10th grade. We offer all subjects that are offered by schools in Germany: German, Mathematics, English, French, Sciences, Social Sciences, Sports, Arts, and Music. Our class sizes are small and our teaching is uses on modern methods, taught with the latest technology. Our curriculum is based on the curriculum of the Federal State of Thuringia. The curriculum is centred on competencies, providing a modern, holistic education, aiming at the future of your child.
Recognized German state certificates are issued after 9th and 10th grades respectively: HAUPTSCHULABSCHLUSS (school leaving certificate) after 9th grade, REALSCHULABSCHLUSS (school leaving certificate) after 10th grade, and ZUGANG ZUR GYMNASIALEN OBERSTUFE (the official permit to be promoted to 11th grade) after 10th grade.
Students who pass the ZUGANG ZUR GYMNASIALEN OBERSTUFE can proceed to 11th grade to be part of our IB Diploma Programme, taught entirely in English. Students can also opt for the GIB (Gemischtsprachiges Internationales Baccalaureate) in which two subjects, namely Biology and History, are taught in German, in addition to German as a language subject. Both The IB Diploma and the GIB are recognized as German Abitur, under certain conditions, giving access to German Universities. The IB-grade is then converted to the Abitur-Note.
In our German Middle School, students of the three German school forms (Gymnasium, Realschule, Hauptschule) usually sit in one class; however, a support programme exists, especially for German and Mathematics, which allows for the needs of the individual student. In addition, we have elective subjects, where additional support on different levels is being offered.
We also offer Extracurricular Activities in the areas of sports, the arts, and languages. These activities are offered in collaboration with the French School, the Lycée Français de Manille.
An open and bright canteen offers a warm lunch, snacks, and beverages at any time. .
