International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme

The IB Diploma Programme is a two-year course ideally suited to prepare ambitious and inquiring young people for university studies anywhere in the world. Challenging in terms of its content and wide-ranging in terms of its scope, it is rapidly becoming the choice of not only international schools, but also of state and private schools in countries like Britain, the United States and Australia.

Since our accreditation as an IB World School in 2004, our graduates who have completed their Diplomas with us have gone on to continue their studies successfully in universities in countries as wide a field as Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Holland, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Switzerland, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States. This success is due in great part to the fact that the two year programme gives the students time to develop, time to learn, and when they leave for university, we know they are ready and prepared for the challenges ahead. Students who can think and work independently, but also who are strong team players.

In addition to fulfilling all of the conventional requirements of the IB curriculum, what sets us apart from other IB schools in this part of the world is the distinctly European flavour of our curriculum, with English, German, French and Spanish as standard languages. Our students continued success in the language components of the IB Diploma is a testament to our particular success in this area.

The primary medium of instruction is English and many students choose to study five of the six subjects in their Diploma in English, with the sixth option, the second language, selected from Spanish, German or French. However, students with a very good knowledge of German can choose the bilingual Diploma course (GIB). The GIB is government-supported and fully equivalent to a German Abitur. The Diploma Programme we offer can also open the door to DAAD scholarships that cover for the complete cost of a university course in Germany.
