Kindergarten & Pre School

The German European School Manila is an accredited German foreign school with two sections for the Kindergarten and Pre-Primary. The German Section uses German as the primary language of communication while the International Section has English as the mode of instruction.

Classes are divided into two different age groups: Kindergarten: 3 to 5 years old and Pre-Primary: 5 to 6 years old. Both classes have students with various nationalities that enable your child to interact with children from different cultural backgrounds – not only inside the classroom but also in the playground and other facilities on campus.

The International Section follows an inquiry approach to learning and is presently implementing the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP).

THE PRIMARY YEARS PROGRAMME

The Primary Years Programme offers a balance between learning about or through different subject areas and learning beyond them. Students study six units of inquiry each year which are framed by six global themes:

  1. Who We Are
  2. Where We Are in Place and Time
  3. How We Express Ourselves
  4. How the World Works
  5. How We Organize Ourselves
  6. Sharing the Planet

Each unit of inquiry taught is planned collaboratively by qualified PYP trained teachers. They make sure all learning engagements are significant, relevant, engaging and challenging as well as promote international mindedness among the students.

In the Early Years International Section, it is our primary belief that each individual child should be encouraged to make his own unique experiences within different social environments and situations through the use of all of his and her senses as this is how children instinctively perceive their environment. Learning through experience is an essential opportunity that will enrich each child on a holistic level. The intellectual and emotional sides of the child are both simultaneously and age appropriately developed to ensure a well-balanced and secure child enabling him or her to discover and develop strategies for dealing with the world around them.

LEARNING GERMAN

As an accredited German School Abroad with the quality seal of “Excellent German School Abroad,” we put much emphasis on promoting the German Language.

Like in most German schools abroad the subjects “German as a Foreign Language” (DaF) and German as a Secondary Language (DaZ) play a vital role at our school. As soon as they start with Kindergarten, we introduce the German language to the children in a playful manner by means of songs, rhymes, games and playing or acting out roles. All lessons in the subjects DaF and DaZ are taught by a specially trained native German speaking teacher.

TRANSPORTATION

Our school bus providers offer transfer services for almost all areas of Manila. Our professional drivers ensures your child’s safety at all times – from when they are picked up from your home and brought back to your doorstep after classes end.
