Dear parents, dear students, dear teachers,

As this school week is a short one the circular is shorter as well. However, important school events are already casting shadows. From May 14 to 18 we will see Ms. Dorothée Bauni from Germany visiting GESM to chair the final oral examinations of grade 10 D of the German section. She is the official representative of the German Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Länder in the Federal Republic of Germany, in other words she represents the German departments of education in South East Asia. The preparation for this high-ranking visitor is under way on all levels.

Meanwhile the IB-DP examinations are proceeding according to schedule. Let me wish again all participating students of grade 12 every success and the necessary endurance to successfully stand the examinations. On May 14 it is the turn for the students of grade 10 I, then they will start to sit their IGCSE examinations.

​

Tomorrow our students of the grades 6 to 8 will have the opportunity to improve their musical skills in an Instrumental Workshop participating in various instrumental section tutorials mentored by specialist instrumental teachers. Nearly 40 students have already registered for this workshop. I wish all participants every success and hope they can improve on their instruments and find an unforgettable musical experience.

Our librarian Ms. Pfaff submitted a report on the illustration workshop held at GESM on April 27. As part of the Golden Feather writing competition, the Eurocampus Library Manila invited the famous illustrator Ralph Becker to hold a multilingual illustration workshop in German, French and English for our primary students. The report and the pictures provide you with an overview on this creative workshop.
