A map of "Deutschland" in DaF Grade 3-I

by Andreas Eggert | 09 Oct 2020

To implement the PYP principle of transdisciplinary learning, students of Grade 3-I embarked on an exciting journey.

At first - to familiarize students with the shape of Germany - we watched a weather forecast from Germany, reviewing all the new weather related vocabulary we had learned. Then I showed a map of Germany and said:

"Kinder, can you draw the map of Germany on a piece of paper and add the most important cities? If you want you can also add the German flag. Are you ready?"

Students immediately said "Ja" and went about their task with enthusiasm and great creativity.

Shortly after, I received so many colorful maps of Germany and was amazed by how well our PYP project went.

Enjoy the student's artworks and see you again after the break in November.
