A Mini-University Fair(y tale)

Updated: 6 days ago

by: Stephanie Steinberg

Once upon a Monday morning, all G11 and G12 students gathered in the library extension because the DP coordinator had called upon them.

They received three tasks to master before they could regain their freedom. The quest required interest, courtesy and curiosity. Earlier that morning, four mighty university representatives had arrived and set up their stalls. In a fantastic combination they presented a Business School in Spain (IE University), a Hospitality School in Switzerland (HTMI: Hotel and Tourism Management Institute Switzerland) and the American university Full Sail, specialized on arts, music and film.

The students then engaged in conversation with the representatives and took advantage of the vast knowledge in the room to gain input on potential countries and careers. Pamphlets and information fostered curiosity and interest, being patient and courteous with each other and the visiting adults presented another challenge, excellently mastered by the most mature students.

Overall, events like this open possibilities and options, widen the horizon and hopefully inspire pathways after graduation.
