As part of the art curriculum, the students of class 10D have engaged deeply with the theme of Impressionism to celebrate the 150th anniversary of this significant art movement. The course provided students with the opportunity to not only learn the theoretical foundations of Impressionism but also to engage in creative activities.
Initially, the students explored the characteristics and history of Impressionism. They presented on various Impressionist painters, with each student choosing an artist whose work particularly fascinated them. These presentations allowed for an in-depth insight into the life stories and techniques of artists such as Claude Monet, Edgar Degas, and Pierre-Auguste Renoir.
In the practical segment of the class, the students put their newly acquired knowledge into practice: they created their own Impressionist paintings on canvas. Using acrylic paint and the palette knife technique, they aimed to replicate the vibrant colors and dynamic textures typical of Impressionist art. The results were impressive and showcase the creativity and dedication of the students.
We are excited to announce that the students' paintings will be exhibited at Surinam 2. This art class was not only a tribute to Impressionism but also a valuable experience that fostered the students' artistic development. We are proud of the achievements of class 10D and look forward to showcasing their works in this upcoming exhibition!
