The German European School Manila (GESM) and Lycée Français de Manille (LFM) came together this past week to celebrate the 62nd anniversary of the Élysée Treaty with a series of collaborative activities. From January 20 to 24, students from both schools worked on shared lessons, projects, and events to highlight the values of friendship and unity.
The celebration kicked off with joint primary class presentations on the Élysée Treaty on January 20 and 22. On January 22, students from GESM and LFM sang songs of peace and unity, including the European anthem, in German, English, and French. The performance was followed by collaborative music classes for secondary students.
On January 23, Grade 9 students participated in a Karambolage workshop, while Grade 7 students showcased a virtual exhibit in the school lobby. Throughout the week, an art exhibit displayed in the lobby further underscored the creative spirit of the event.
While sharing one campus presents its challenges and each school has its differences, the series of events highlights the efforts given to achieve a productive and enriching environment for all students.
