Creative German lessons with reading diaries

by Tina Barthel

The third grade of the German elementary school wrote a reading diary in German from March to April. A reading diary is a kind of diary in which one's own impressions and thoughts about a book are written down. For this, all students were allowed to borrow a book of their own choice from our library. The children also recorded in the reading diary on which days they read and how far. While reading and after finishing the book, the impressions and thoughts about the book were recorded, so that in the end great reading diaries were created, which show how intensively the children have dealt with their books.
