G5 trip to the National Museum of Anthropology

by Mr. Lawrence Buck, Mr. Peter Cochrane and Ms. Ayessa Mejas

The trip to the museum was an engaging "tuning-in" activity for our Grade 5 students as they soon embark on their inquiry into Ancient Civilizations. By experiencing firsthand the artifacts from ancient Filipino civilizations, students are inspired to explore how societies evolved and developed systems that influence our present-day lives. This hands-on experience sparks curiosity and encourages them to ask questions about the past.

In this unit, Grade 5 will delve deeper into the civilizations relevant to their own heritage, allowing them to draw connections between history and their current identities. Through this inquiry, they will investigate the factors that shaped these civilizations and how their legacies continue to impact modern society. This trip serves as a vital stepping stone in their learning journey, fostering a deeper understanding of the rich tapestry of human history.  We look forward to a meaningful learning journey in Grade 5 for Unit 2 as they also learn more about their own country's ancient civilizations.
