Once again this year, German Unity Day was celebrated extensively at the primary school. First, the six houses gathered on the sports field in front of the stage. Ambassador Dr. Pfaffernoschke and Principal Frank welcomed all the children and wished the houses a lot of fun for the rest of the event. After that, the houses moved to their stations. Six game stations were spread across the sports field. There were sack races, tug-of-war, jump rope, can throwing, and two catching games. Each house had 12 minutes to try out each respective game. Then, the stations were rotated so that all houses could try out all the games. After this great effort, everyone was provided with fresh fruits and real pretzels. Before returning to the classrooms, there was a tug-of-war competition among the teachers. To great applause, this competition was won by Mrs. Buck's team with a score of 2:0. All in all, it was a very successful celebration on the German National Day.
