GESM's Parent Council (GEB) Launches First-Ever Parent Rep Handbook

The Gesamtelternbeirat (GEB), or Parent Council, of the German European School Manila (GESM) is making history this school year 2024-25 with the launch of the very first GEB Parent Representative Handbook. Under the leadership of the current officers, this initiative aims to provide clear guidelines and expectations for all parent representatives elected to the GEB.

The GEB is composed of elected parent representatives from all classes at GESM. They meet regularly to discuss school matters, represent the parent community, and collaborate with the school administration to ensure the best educational experience for students.

The GEB Parent Representative Handbook will serve as an essential resource, outlining roles, responsibilities, and best practices for representatives. It is designed to be updated annually, ensuring that it remains relevant and effective in guiding parents who take on this important role.

“We hope this handbook will empower Parent Representatives by providing them with a clear understanding of their role,” said Jenn Gruenewald, GEB Chairperson. “A well-informed and engaged parent council strengthens our school community and enhances the experience for all students.”

With this new handbook, the GEB reaffirms its commitment to transparency, engagement, and fostering a strong school community. Parents can now look forward to a more structured and informed approach to school representation, ultimately benefiting the entire GESM family.

For more information, parents are encouraged to reach out to their class representatives or the GEB leadership team.
