After a weekend of intense competition, the team for the South East Asian Games of German Schools, set for June 2025 in Singapore, has been finalized! Thirty Secondary students from GESM participated in tryouts held from Friday to Sunday, battling for a spot in the athletic delegation.
The tryouts featured a range of sports, including Leichtathletik (track and field), Schwimmen (swimming), football (with friendly competition from the LFM – French School of Manila football team), and volleyball (thanks to the UP Los Banos volleyball team for joining the matches). The competition was fierce, but only 20 students could be selected, with the team needing to maintain an average age of exactly 15 years and 0 months.
After an exciting and fun-filled weekend, the team is now set and ready to represent GESM in Singapore. Congratulations to the selected athletes, and a huge thank you to everyone who participated—you’ve all shown incredible effort, sportsmanship, and dedication! Best of luck to the team as they prepare for this prestigious event!
