Recently, students from Grade 7E at GESM spent a fun and educational day with preschoolers from the French School Manila (LFM), helping them build and fly kites. The activity was part of their English unit and served as a meaningful way to engage with younger students from our partner school.
The idea originated from Grade 7E’s desire to collaborate with LFM students. Kite flying was chosen both for its simplicity and as a symbol of unity and joy—perfectly fitting the spirit of the Élysée Treaty, which celebrates French-German friendship.
During the activity, the middle schoolers guided the preschoolers through the kite-making process, teaching them how to assemble, decorate, and launch their creations. Afterwards, they all headed onto the sports field sharing in the excitement as the colorful kites soared -- not always very high 😂 -- into the sky.
The activity not only reinforced teamwork, patience, and communication skills but also strengthened the bond between the two Eurocampus schools.
