Art project of Grades 7D and 8D
by Rene Reiter
The students of Grades 7D & 8D have dealt intensively with the topic of sound painting as part of their art lessons. First, the students got to know the fascinating works of the artist Roy Lichtenstein. Lichtenstein is known for its unique style, which is strongly influenced by comic culture and advertising. He used various painting techniques, including:
Dotted painting technique (Benday dots): Lichtenstein used a technique in which color dots are arranged at regular intervals to create shades and hues. This technique gives its images a characteristic, graphic look.
Powerful lines: He used thick, black contours to emphasize the shapes in his pictures. These lines ensure a clear demarcation of the individual elements and enhance the comic effect.
Flat color areas: Lichtenstein used bright, flat colors that were often applied without shading or texture. This contributes to the graphic clarity and visual impact of his works.
Roy Lichtenstein's artworks are often scenes from comics or everyday situations combined with humorous or dramatic elements. Many of his works deal with love, conflict, and modern life, and they are known for their emotional expressiveness and ironic attitude to consumer culture.
The highlight of the project was the creative implementation: the students made three-dimensional objects inspired by Lichtenstein's style. These objects not only reflect their understanding of sound painting, but also their artistic creativity.
We are proud of the impressive results and the dedicated participation of our students.
