Parent Evenings at GESM Foster Strong School-Home Collaboration

On September 11 and 12, the German European School Manila (GESM) welcomed Secondary and Primary parents, respectively, for the annual Parent Evenings. These sessions offered an opportunity for parents to engage with the school and gain valuable insights into the academic year ahead.

The evening began with a presentation by Head of School Mr. Christoph-Boris Frank, who discussed key school-wide projects and important updates for School Year 2024-25. This was followed by a brief introduction of the teachers from each department, allowing parents to meet the educators responsible for their children’s learning.

Parents then joined their child's homeroom teacher in their classrooms, where they received detailed information about the subjects, daily routines, and how lessons are conducted. This provided an opportunity to address any pedagogical or everyday school-related questions parents might have.

A key highlight of the evening was the election of class parent representatives. These elected representatives will meet monthly with the school management and other parents to discuss important school matters, ensuring that communication between home and school remains strong throughout the year. The collaborative efforts between parents and the school aim to support the education and development of each child.

Additionally, GESM’s preschoolers will have their own Parent Evening on September 17, offering the same opportunity for parents to connect with teachers and discuss their children's early learning experiences.
