Parkour at the Kindergarten

by Matthias Findorff

Every Friday, the little and big foxes in the German Section Kindergarten & Vorschule have sports together. Since the children naturally enjoy discovering new things, coupled with plenty of exercise in the fresh air, we decided to focus on motor skills development and set up a parkour. On the one hand, this promotes motor skills such as climbing, jumping, crawling, etc., through its various challenging obstacles, but also the flexibility, endurance and resilience of the children. Also, the children learn to make their own decisions on how best to overcome which obstacle. At the end of the parkour, each child's self-confidence was really boosted, as they all successfully overcame their obstacles.
