On October 2, the primary school students at the German European School Manila celebrated German Unity Day with a fun-filled day of games and learning. Teachers, with the help of parent volunteers, organized traditional games that are typically played by children in Germany. The students, competing within their school houses, had a great time out on the field, enjoying the spirited competition.
The highlight of the event was the tug-of-war match, where parents and teachers joined in the fun. The parents claimed victory in the first round, but the teachers came back strong to win the second.
After the games, the students gathered to watch an educational film about the reunification of Germany, discussing the values of freedom and democracy. The film highlighted why these values remain important today, making it a meaningful conclusion to the day’s celebrations.
