I had my solo guitar recital last Tuesday, 18th of February in the EIS Auditorium. I played Back in Black by AC/DC, Johnny B. Goode by Chuck Berry, Fly me to the Moon by Frank Sinatra in Bossa Nova style and Crossroads by Cream. This recital is one of many that I must accomplish in order to complete my IBDP Music course. This endeavor has been quite a challenge for me since I’ve only had a limited amount of time to prepare for it.
In addition, it can be said that learning different styles of music and techniques expanded my knowledge and skills in playing the guitar.
My experience throughout the actual recital was overwhelming. As the audience started to fill up the hall, I had shivers down my spine. As I became more comfortable with the crowd, I began to play with confidence and had some fun.
It is always an honor to play in a band with Edcharles Bation as the bassist and Jeremias Oxinio as the drummer, both were extremely helpful in this recital and I can only hope to play with them again later.
