Our 5th graders recently took center stage to present their highly anticipated PYP Exhibition, and what a show it was! Overflowing with knowledge, talent, and skills, the students wowed the entire school community with their impressive research and engaging presentations. Each student demonstrated not only their deep understanding of their chosen topics but also their ability to inspire positive change and raise awareness about important issues shaping our world today.
As we’ve come to expect year after year, the students delivered compelling data and thought-provoking insights that left us all reflecting on how we can contribute to a better future. It was a truly remarkable experience, akin to listening to seasoned presenters or broadcasters, as they showcased their Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills—research, thinking, social, communication, and self-management skills—in full action.
In his opening speech, our Head of School, Mr. Frank, highlighted the most important purpose of our education system: to equip children with academic knowledge and proficiency, and to arm them with the skills and insights needed to understand and navigate the complexities of the real world. The 5th graders’ presentations embodied this vision perfectly.
But it wasn’t just their academic work that left us speechless. The students also moved us with their powerful Blue Light Mime Performance, a stunning act that brought many in the audience to tears. Their heartfelt rendition of "We Are the World, We Are the Children" added an emotional layer to their exhibition, leaving a lasting impact on everyone in the room. Did we mention the very cool rap rendition of the song, too? Amazing!
A huge congratulation to our Grade 5 students for their dedication, creativity, and hard work. A heartfelt thank you to our tireless teachers and the ever-supportive parents who helped make this incredible achievement possible. This exhibition was truly a celebration of learning, growth, and the power of positive change. Well done, Grade 5!
