Carsten Stormer, a German documentary filmmaker, visited the German European School Manila to engage with students from classes 9D and 11 during their art class. Known for taking on all aspects of his film projects—from research to editing—Stormer shared insights into his work, including The Eagle Huntress, a documentary for which he spent a year living with a family in Mongolia to explore the life of Aibota, a young eagle huntress.
The students had the chance to ask questions and discuss the filmmaking process, learning the importance of critically analyzing films and understanding their messages. It was an engaging session that encouraged students to think more deeply about the power of storytelling.
We thank Mr. Stormer for sharing his experiences and giving students a closer look at the world of documentary filmmaking.
