We're ready to get the ball rolling in the Houses of Primary!

by Lawrence Buck and Rain Galvez (Houses Coordinators)

With our ever-increasing numbers in Our Primary sections, we have been able to expand the number of Houses to six notably Dresden, Berlin, Bremen, Munchen, Frankfurt and Munster. The members of each House are a cross-section of German and English section students. The different teams aim to help develop our student's life skills, conduct curriculum-linked activities and participate in host-country and host culture events such as Geo Bee Challenge, Spelling Bee, Earth Day, Lanterne, Enterdank and Palarong Pinoy - to name a few.

This year we have 152 students! Their first task this year was to elect their House Captains and Vice Captains. The Houses voted! And now, we are pleased to present to you the House Captains and Vice Captains this school year!

The Houses of Primary was implemented with the aim to foster the spirit of camaraderie and collaboration amongst students, across English and German Primary where students are mixed from all grade levels. Peer to peer learning takes place within the Houses where students from the upper primary help children from lower primary levels. It is through active learning and close interaction with other students that the children are be able to take responsibility of their own learning.

It is pleasing to see that the new combinations of House Mentors shows a mix of enthusiastic and effective colleagues representing the German section and the English section and collaborating so energetically.
